Here's an overview of what to expect at this year's festival.

Click the links on the right hand of this page to see the running orders for out three stages: The Incredible India Stage, the Mehfil Stage and the Community Stage.

A taste of World Music

Throughout the day festivalgoers can enjoy a host of acts, including Black Star Steel Band, Mela veterans G Town Desi, and the ever-popular Raj Brass Band. Local Roma group E Karika Djal contribute their irresistable folk-infused set, and we’ll be presenting some wonderful Sufi music courtesy of international acts Dilraj Singh Group, and Chand Ali Khan. We welcome the return of Syrian instrumentalist Maya Youssef, whose captivating sound comes from her innovative playing of the qanun – a traditional Middle Eastern instrument.

We are also premiering the results of a Gaelic-Indian collaboration, funded by Creative Scotland and featuring violinists Alan Henderson and Sunita Bhuyan, singers Kathleen MacInnes and Minakshi Majumdar, and young people from both backgrounds.

Dance, dance, dance!

As ever a range of traditional and more modern dance styles will get the festival moving, and bring with them an array of dazzling costumes! Enjoy street dance, bhangra, Bollywood, Thai and Oriental disciplines, and more.

The line-up includes local favourites such as Desi Bravehearts and Dance Abhinaya, and further-flung names like Romane Cierhenia and Gabru Punjab De. These and many more groups will give virtuoso performances of dance traditions from myriad countries, and are guaranteed to get your toes tapping too!

Headline acts

Headling our main stage - the Incredible India stage - is Miss Pooja, the biggest-selling female bhangra artist in the world. Miss Pooja has been recording for over a decade, both performing as a solo artist and dueting with other international stars. She is also a hugely successful actress.

We’re also very excited to be bringing the popular vocalist Akbar Ali from Lahore for a special Main Stage performance.
