This year we're very excited to be nominated for two awards – once again for 2018's Best Mela, and this year Glasgow Mela's Producer, Harminder Berman, has been nominated for a Special Contribution Award.
Make sure to vote before Thursday 1 November, wish us luck!
Glasgow Mela is Scotland's biggest free multicultural festival, bursting with live music, theatre performances, exotic mouth-watering foods from around the globe and fun for all ages.
On 24 June 2018 we welcomed a phenomenal 45,000 festivalgoers to Kelvingrove Park for an unforgettable day of live music headlined by Bhangra superstar Miss Pooja. A wildly eclectic and colourful line-up included dhol drumming, steel band, Roma folk, sufi, and plenty of irresistible bhangra beats, while brightly costumed performers took to the stage with virtuoso displays of dance from around the world. The park was abuzz with revellers of all ages enjoying delicious world cuisines, browsing stalls and soaking up the amazing atmosphere. We'd like to thank everyone involved in making Mela happen, and for all of you who joined us there.
