Sunday 14th June 201512-8pm Kelvingrove Park
Glasgow Mela 2015 will take place on Sunday 14 June, and this year we are celebrating our 25th anniversary!
Once again, the festival will take place in the West End's beautiful Kelvingrove Park, and will be free and open to all.
Glasgow Mela is Scotland's biggest free multicultural festival. It takes place annually, and is open to all ages.
Over the festival audiences will enjoy a diverse programme of colourful performances representing cultures from across the world, as well as family activities, stalls selling gifts, accessories, textiles, clothes and more, and a mouth-watering range of quality world foods to taste.
We are delighted to announce that two giants of music will be joining forces for this year's headline slot: The mighty Dhol Foundation, hugely popular at previous Melas, in collaboration with bagpipe rockers Red Hot Chilli Pipers!Other performers confirmed so far include popular dance acts Abhinaya, Dance Ihayami and Desi Bravehearts; up-and-coming indie duo Sacred Paws; a UK premiere for flamboyant Dhol drummers - all the way from Lahore - Sain Tanveer Brothers, bhangra veterans Alaap Group and top Jamaican dub poet Yasus Afari. More information about our performace and activity programme will be published on this website in the coming weeks.
