Glasgow Mela

Sat 15th & Sun 16th June 2013 - 12-8pm, Kelvingrove Park

This year the O2 Glasgow Mela takes place on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June 2013. Once again, the festival takes place in Kelvingrove Park, and is FREE.

The festival, which is the biggest of its kind in Scotland, has now been launched, and the headline acts have been announced. Bhangra sensations Sona Walia and Ali Romeo, who recently raced to the top of the BBC Asian network charts with his debut single Mahi, will be joined by The Dhol Foundation and its legendary icon Johnny Kalsi on Sunday evening.  Saturday’s crowds will see Foji Gill and Sahara storm the stage, together with Scottish Bhangra superstars Tigerstyle.

A diverse programme of music, dance and performance will take place over three stages, plus roaming acts who will be appearing intermittently around the park.
